Gemstones have their own kingdom and we at David Clay Jewelers are but their servants. We are fascinated by gems; that's why we are in the jewelry business. Did you know that sapphires and rubies are the same mineral, corundum? Rubies are those that are red through a pinkish red and all the other colors, blues, yellows, purples, and greens are all referred to as sapphires? What causes the six rayed star in some stones and fire in others? You can study gemstones your entire life and never know all there is to know.
